Mogadishu (almuniir) - The president of Somalia Sheikh Sharif has put forward the potential prime minister for the new government in a meeting with some lawmakers yesterday in Mogadishu. The president’s favourite for the position was Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ali.
“The country is passing at a critical moment and there is no much time to be wasted in looking for a prime minister. Therefore I decided to appoint Dr. Abdiweli as the prime minister for the new government. I believe he has the capacity and relevant knowledge of the office of the former prime minister” the president said.
Ahmed Dhimbil Rooble, the second assistant of the speaker of the parliament said the lawmakers will welcome and unanimously vote for the prime minister to-be adding that Dr. Abdiweli is an intellect and fit for the position of the premier.
The former prime minister, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo lately resigned from the premiership on grounds of minding the welfare of the people following an accord that was reached at Kampala in Uganda.
