Somalia Independence occasion held in Mogadishu and other areas

Mogadishu (almuniir) - The ceremony of the independence day of the southern Somalia and the unification of the south and north of Somalia which coincides with 1st July was celebrated in Mogadishu, Garowe, some parts of the country and other towns in the world.
The occasion which was held in the state house in Mogadishu was attended by the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan, the Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, other officials and guests of honour where the flag was raised at 12.00am.
The speaker and PM talked at the ceremony and congratulated the people of the Independence Day. National songs were sung by musicians from Waberi and Heegan.
A similar occasion was also held in Garowe, the capital of Puntland and was attended by the Puntland president Abdirahman Farole and other officials. Songs depicting the importance of the Independence Day was sung by popular musicians and the flag was also raised.
Meanwhile the Somali communities in Cape Town, South Africa were also not left behind. They held their celebration which was attended by officials from the South African government, Somali community leaders, businessmen and guests of honour.
