Conflict is said to be simmering between, Muktar Abuu Mansoor and Ahmed Godane, the two senior-most leaders of Al-shabab.
The row caused at least 30 battle wagons with militias loyal to Abuu Mansoor to reach Baidoa to consolidate their power.
On the other hand, Ahmed Godane and his loyal militias are reported to have left Baidoa for lower Shabelle regions, as confirmed by eyewitnesses.
Some residents say Abu Mansoor’s militias were seen flocking towards the former parliament building center in Baidoa. It s feared that the row may cause confrontation between the two leaders who were frequently at loggerheads.
This is not the first time the two leaders confronted. Concerns are being raised in fear of armed conflict. The row comes amid serious financial problems experienced by the groups.
