Mogadishu (almuniir) - The President of Somalia Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, and his accompanying delegates on Tuesday afternoon returned to Mogadishu after a short visit to the Djibouti capital, Djibouti to consult with officials of the Government of Djibouti on the requirements of the difficult phase which awaits his government during the next few months.
The president was greeted and welcomed by the officials of the State Council and officers of the Somali armed forces, as well as members from the Department of Banadir province.
The Somali President Ahmed Sharif, during his brief visit to the capital of Djibouti, met with a number of Djiboutian government officials, led by the President Omar Geelle, who was briefed on the latest developments in the political arena in Somalia, as well as developments on the ground made by the federal government.
Sharif also met with a number of Somali businessmen living in Djibouti, calling them to participate in the efforts of the federal government in order to bring about peace and stability throughout the country.
Some analysts and observers of the situation of Somalia say that the visit of the President of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed follows a search for support from the neighboring countries to overcome the difficult period the Somali government will face during the next few months.
